What We Do

Through the use of dance, songs, movement, props and sensory equipment we can help your little one to develop in most areas of child development:

  • language
  • memory
  • numeracy
  • physical development
  • co-ordination
  • social skills
  • concentration
  • confidence
  • body awareness

and most of all have FUN! Not to mention the adults also having lots of fun, whether that be Mummy, Daddy, Nanny, Granddad or any adult who wishes to accompany your child.

As well as all the above, your little one is also starting to learn the basics of the different dance style. Our classes are based around the principles of ballet, tap and street dancer and this is done in a safe environment.

Where It All Started

Hi – I’m Michelle Venter

Back in April 2012 I first launched Twirling Toddlers classes, previously to this I had a 14 year career in teaching dance. I was a partner for 7 of those years in a very successful dance school in Royal Leamington Spa and also worked over the years as a lecturer in further education colleges, teaching in secondary schools, primary schools and the pre-school market.

I hold a BA (Hons) degree in dance and I’m a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and International Dance Teacher Association (IDTA).

So why the pre-school market? In 2011 I took time out of teaching to have my first child and this is where my interest began to devise a dance and movement programme for babies and toddlers. I realised there were very little dance and movement based classes for the under 3 year olds, yet there was no reason for this, as most babies and toddlers react to music. They naturally begin to move, dance or wiggle when they hear music.

I’ve created Twirling Toddlers to be enjoyable and informal but to still teach your little one the basics of dance and to aid the development of your little one in a relaxed and fun environment.

I do hope that you will pop along to a Twirling Toddlers class near you and experience one of our sessions.

Uniforms are not compulsory for our classes, all you and your little one need to wear is something comfortable that you can move easily in. However, we understand that all children love to dress up, so leotards, tutus or a favourite dressing up outfit are more than welcome.

Footwear for classes

Ballet – Bare feet or Ballet shoes

Tap – Tap shoes (we do supply tap shoes for trial classes)

Funky feet – Trainers or pumps

Should you wish to purchase uniform we offer this at a very reasonable price for all students and we have some branded products also available with the Twirling Toddlers logo.
